Center for Mindful Living Introduces Mindfulness Camp for Kids

Marking off another age group on their checklist, the Center for Mindful Living is now offering a camp for kids. Along with the camp are courses made for the little bunch ranging from ages 8 to 12.

Opening the website, they give parents a brief description about the camp.

“The Mindfulness Camp is designed to foster creativity and present moment awareness, as well as develop healthy ways to cope with the stress and changes of a growing body and mind.”

Activities at the weeklong camp will include mindful movement, meditation, journal writing, and so much more.

Divided into two sessions, pricing at $145 a week, the first batch will on June 15-19, while the second on July 20-24.

The camp’s instructor, 20 year old Beth Vandergraph, says that the camp will be “quiet” and goes on saying that mindfulness is good for the humans on the planet, and that it works likewise with kids.

"The more awareness we raise about what mindfulness is, the less stigma we'll have around it," Vandergraph said. "It's really just the practice of becoming more self-aware. People approach it from their own background, and you get what you want and need out of it."

At the camp children will learn how to connect with their thoughts, focus and attention. The activities will be lined up with these factors, either in groups or individually.

Vandergraph says that the camp will benefit children with active brains or those who are experiencing some problems in their lives.
